West Africa Ebola Polling
I'm doing an assignment for my Critical Thinking class and I'm suppose to poll random people about...
1. Should we allow people from West Africa or people who have recently travel to West Africa to enter our USA borders? 2. Are you aware of the Ebola situation? 3. Should we Quarantine Folks for 21 days? I would greatly appreciate it if you could kindly give me some of your opinions on this situation. It doesn't have to be a long, short answers are acceptable. Thank you! |
Yes
Yes No West Africa is much bigger than the three countries having major outbreaks. Also the mortality rate in the USA is closer to 10% than the 40-50% avg in this current outbreak. 21 days is a long fvcking time. |
disclosure i'm from canada but i think it should apply everywhere.
1. travel bans should be in place. it may not be super contagious like the flu, but you need to isolate the problem. it's a one-way ticket to those quarantine areas and if you want out you have to be screened + quarantined. 2. yes, i shake my head. look at that CNN video showing the reporter without a haz mat suit on with the clipboard. wtf is that. 3. quarantine as long as they deem acceptable. no point in getting sick and spreading it to your loved ones or others. |
dont allow them to enter the US
we have got our own problems here. we dont need to another country's horrible virus.....again. as for 21 days.......i could deal with it. give me an xbox and i'll be just fine. sounds like a nice paid vacation from work honestly. just you know the whole making sure i get cured part would be the concern lol |
I heard this on the radio yesterday, I agree 100%

1. No
2. Yes 3. Yes. At least long enough to verify whether or not they have it. |
Ban flights from Africa until the people are known not to carry it. For the U.S. of A. Close the damn borders until we stop having cases come up. Has anyone ever read WWZ or the zombie survival guide. Come on!

Buy stocks in fear.. because that **** is selling. Don't forget about ISIS guys. They're dropping ebola Bombs on everyone.

No
Yes Look at #1. If they're traveling elsewhere, sure I guess. Don't use my tax money. |

I'll try to avoid people that have been to that part of the world until this blows over ... but that shouldn't be too difficult here in Middle-of-Nowhere, AR. I'm slightly more concerned about getting Ebola than I am about being abducted by aliens. :) |

We should be more concerned with measles, mumps, and rubella.
I was just talking with a friend who's an OBGYN. Had a pregnant patient come in demanding an Ebola vaccine. When he explained that we don't yet have a Vx but that she should have a flu Vx for the safety of her and her baby she stopped listening and wouldn't get any vaccines. That being said, I've done some Hazmat trainingn and the suits they wear (and to a lesser degree isolation gowns I wear at work) are incredibly difficult to take off without getting contaminated. 1. yes 2. yes, at least I follow it on the news and have taken a few virology courses. 3. on |
no
yes yes I don't see why the US can't have a military plane doing round trips for people who need to come and go, and shut down commercial flights. At least until we have a vaccine. Seems your "phd" head of the CDC is a bit of a retard. |

People probably said the same of the black plauge when it first started. If Ebola has exponential growth(number of deaths double every 20 days) with a 50% death rate, we could easily have hundreds of millions dead. |

If pigs had wings... So far, the death rate in the US is zero and the growth rate is pretty close to the same. Be aware but don't over-react. |
