So I posted something like this and almost was banned from the site, won't name sites as Club SI may get mad. So what prompted me to post is that I see us spending tons of money on our rides, and putting the most expensive fuel, best lubricants and whatever or wallets allows us to keep our Z's in the best condition. What about us, do you smoke?, drink and eat anything in site no matter what it does to your system?
Most of us don't think about it and is almost like a taboo to mention it. I saw this heavy set guy use his hands on the ground to get himself out of his 'vette, I mean really, c'mon ppl is your car your armor?
I weighed over 300 lbs at 5'8" and after my wife got breast cancer and got me a membership at local gym I lost 70 lbs and I'm in the best shape of my life, eat good and now I'm 56 and drive a Z which I also take care of. So tell me about you and your Z, who is in better shape and who will out live the other

I treat my vehicles a lot better than I treat myself. After open-heart surgery about 15 years ago I decided I'm going to enjoy what time I have left. Bacon cheeseburgers, fudge chunk ice cream, cigarettes, nice cars, &c. Doesn't make sense to me to deprive myself for the sake of a few more days - I've had a good Life and can't complain if I die this afternoon.

I have plenty of vices. My wife would argue the Z has become one as well I do tend to overindulge, and I am certainly not in the best shape. We're trying to eat better overall (no fast food), but I told my wife in no uncertain terms will I ever give up some things without serious reasons. We're just making a conscious decision to eat healthier when we don't indulge ourselves. While I feel blessed to be in the position I am in to own the Z at this point in my life, it is just a car. I feel more blessed to be in a loving relationship with my wife and in touch regularly with lots of family and friends. And there are a lot of things I would give up for that. If my vices catch up with me, so be it. For now, I'm going to continue to enjoy life as it comes

LOL! A physician friend of mine was hospitalized many years back and was told that he only had six months to live. He asked the nurse to leave the room. When she asked why, he told her that he hadn't masturbated often enough in his life and he was going to start remedying that right away.

He lived 15 years after that

well guys I'm really surprised to read your responses and I wish you all a long life. Personally I look as life as "one day less" and the only reason I go to the gym is for my mind more than my body, the muscles that you build along the way are just a perk. I used to smoke and indulge in many other vices but now I have to take care of the woman I married and her being my personal cook I eat healthy. I have had many "new" cars in the last 15 years and have used the best on them never giving a thought about myself and the way I "ran". Now I take care of both, and like my kids end up their conversations......just saying.

I'm a physician in my 60's. I don't pay any attention to what I eat, but I do pay close attention to my cholesterol, blood pressure, and lipids.

I've pretty much accomplished all I want in my life, other than going to the last conitinent I haven't been to (australia), that would make all of them. If I die tomorrow, I die happy. Although, my perfect death would be getting shot by a jealous husband when I'm 90ish

im not a health conscious person but i was fat as a child and i easily get belly fat, so i keep away from icecream, m&m peanuts, alcohol, any sugary drinks, only eat small portions of greasy things...

i ride my bike on warmer days, and speed walk on the treadmill in the winters... i can do 30 pushups. haha

I probably take care of myself better than I do my Z, but more or less the same rule of thumb... Use it often and have fun with it but don't do anything too stupid. Oh, and wash it at least once a month.

I think about this all the time. I mod my car for better performance and wish I took better care of the more important vehicle, my body. I renewed my gym membership about a month ago and haven't stepped foot in the gym since. Stupid I know but I have intentions to go before it starts getting too cold outside. I freaking hate winter and I will definitely need to hit the gym to prevent gaining any more weight this winter.

yah, i hate going to the gym. i only do excersices that are realistic to me, simple excersises that are easy to do at home.. and quick.

no need to spend extra money to be healthy imo.

I've never had a gym membership but, being around people that are, it appears to me that going to the gym is more of a social activity unless you are a body builder or very serious about exercise. As kenchan hints at, the average I-wanna-get-rid-of-this-pot-belly person can get all the exercise they need without fancy equipment. Of course, if going to the gym works for you, then go for it.

Given the number of clown standing around texting or talking and not actually exercising I see at my gym, I'm inclined to agree it's a social activity and a waste of money for a lot of people.

Love my ride but love myself more ! I don't attend a gym but I watch what I eat and try to maintain a healthy life style , that being said I do enjoy some of the finer things in life but I believe moderation is the key to it all !!
