I do not know. There is a great deal of rice grown here, so maybe the canals are part of that.

Thanks. That's probably it. There are quite a few rice fields around here, but I've never seen them look like that from the air. Maybe when the water is at its highest level???

I didn't realize that rice was grown in that area. But at least now I don't have to learn something else new today. That's a huge relief!
