It is not. I bought it right as the LED backlit craze started happening and I didn't want to drop another big chunk of change for the newest tech.

The gain is very small.. The only reason Im buying the new 55" Toshiba LED
is my 7 year old 46" Toshiba is starting to have problems..

My cousin just won a 55" LargeGarbage from work that is LED backlit and looks :tup:

was it cathode before led's? i remember my backlight not turning on after a while and i was pissed.... i could sort of see but cant see. :mad:
