Default Experience shipping an engine

I'm trying to find a good freight company to ship a (pallated?) long block TR3 engine from Charlotte NC to Tipp City OH. I've looked on various sites and it seems that prices vary pretty widely. I have had no experience doing this in the past besides throwing an engine in the back of my truck, does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Thanks in advance

As long as its well packed, really any freight shipper should do -- its just a matter of hauling a heavy crate from point A to B.

Likewise, if it's somehow knocked from a height off a palette or something, any shipper could damage it.

I'd insure the package so that if it is somehow damaged in the course of shipping at least you are covered.
