K man that is your opinion. I love the fact I can record things and post it right to you tube without editing it.

both are valid points..

i agree and disagree with both of you..

but dreamer has a better view of this.. apple's trend is simple and it all just takes 5 minutes for u to sit down and think about this to realize how everybody who buys apple products is being overcharged n screwed over. apple is completely behind the ball game with technology.. i know ppl who got free phones that had more options than the iphone but because the iphone has a pretty decent touch screen it wins more consumers. camera, mms, etc.

the norm isnt gonna wanna spend on something that isnt attractive, isnt popular and isnt simple, thats just the nature of things. and thats where apple realized this and is capitalizing on, but in an effort to do all this that will be their downfall in the end, unless they eliminate that now. when ur macbook, or ur ipod doesnt work or something in that manner, what usually happens? buy another, as good as that sounds for apple like i said earlier, it will be their downfall in the end. i love my iphone when i travel, but when im here at home or working, i use the G1 it because to me it is the perfect phone.

I love music, only two genres I do not care that much for are R&B and Country, I want my music with me at all times. Heck I have my music on my laptop, my desktop, my server, my Archos, my very very old iPod, just in case something happens to one of my devices. There are limits in what you can do in iTunes though, I cannot load in good quality music that I have (FLAC or WMA lossless), iTunes will slow to a crawl with anything over 50GB of music, iTunes has issues with proper tagging (not in the proper itself but on the outside).

Which sells because it is "trendy," not innovative. Apple sells an image, back to where we started.

I did not go with the iphone simply because I did not want cingular as my provider. I love verizon much better coverage as well.

All my songs are in lossless format. There are plenty of programs that can convert FLAC to apples formats. I think you are just fighting it because you want to. I rip all my music with itunes never download never use P2P networks either. iTunes jsut works.

Not fighting it, I used iTunes for years until it finally got so bloated it was just wrong to open the program. I buy all my music through CDs, where real quality is. If you download any music from online sources you are buying maybe 20% the quality of what a CD is. Going from FLAC or WMA lossless to Apple lossless will lose me quality.

Points:
~Apple market share is UP, where do you keep seeing me say it is down? Apple increased the MP3 market with the latest 3G s iPhone, they increased the laptop/desktop from about 7.5% to 8.1% the past year.
~Apple is doing good with more market share, but is also showing weakness. Increase in problems, lower QA/QC, more vulnerable to harmful attacks, lacking in new technology/developments.
~iPod touch was a worthless upgrade this go around
~iPhone is still one year behind in software - They still not do have proper functions for business, do not have proper app management, lack of flash support for web
~They sell to an image, not a product
~Desktop line is worthless and over-priced
~Laptop line is improving but back to the QA/QC line up - Fix the Macbook Air or get it off the line up, it is dead weight right now. Netbooks are killing it and Apple has no answer other than a over-priced, over-clocked netbook
~Stop trying to cheat your way into the browser market share. They initially add a check box for Safari to download/install on window based computers when updating any Apple software (iTunes, quicktime, etc). There is playing dirty and then there is this.

I have more but do not want to waste your time.

I am going to end this argument now. We each have are looks on apple. This thread was just to show some older video or when the ipod was first introduced and you have turned it into something else. Some of your points are not even close to being true and that is all I am saying. Apple is not going anywhere and there products are great. I am done with this. Thank you for destroying what was a fun thread to begin with. Aslo take a look at the laptop thread I made people are loving there macs and has posted about it maybe you can destroy that thread as well.

~You view Apple as an image, where I see Apple from the business side. Neither side is right or wrong, but it shows in how you are trying to counter me. I could go on forever with data and facts with links to problems, issues Apple is having, etc., but it will never change your mind. You see Apple as a shining light and when you see something new from them it is great and it might be, but I see something new and instantly find the competing products and start comparing. At the same time you have had good experiences with Apple, now do not let my posts make you think otherwise, I have never had a bad experience with Apple in years. Past three years I have gone through multiple iPhones (EDGE & 3G) and helped with numerous people with laptops and none having big issues from Apple making things "bad." Yet you are a bit to favored towards them to see from an outside view point, that is good though because you have your quality experiences but bad at the same time because you only see one side.

I work in HW/SW ... and I deal with this sorta **** all the time... they do whats called planned obsolescence - we do it too lol. The idea is... you make something soo good that once it breaks - you the consumer will want to get a newer better one... and it just so happens that their **** breaks just after the warranty period
