No problem here, still have my mini. All I did was replace the battery. My father still has his shuffle first gen, he has maybe charged it 5 times in teh entire life he has had it. Ipods last a long time. You just have to fallow the recommended charging and all for them and not let them sit and die for a month. ipods RULE
