Yup probably won't be back on until some time tomorrow :ugh2:

then again I am not sure how fast the utility company works in Cali, up here it would be 1-2 days to restore power……

b15  yup Germany did lay a whooping on the host team :excited:

However Nazis is harsh! I am part (1/4) German and my ancestors were definitely not Nazis more the opposite. my great grandfather, great grandmother and grand father spent almost 5 years in a concentration camp

I could rant about the Nazis but I won't………..just find it weird to here the same comment twice in one day. My buddy said basically the same thing today after the game :shakes head:

Wasn't intended to offend anyone, sorry about that. My wife is actually 1/2 German and it's a joke we say, but sorry if I offended you.

But to put things in perspective, my family (I'm first generation in the US) went through something just as bad during the Khmer Rouge regime, also known as the Cambodian genocide. My grandfather lost his life in a labor camp, and my parents, aunts, and uncles spent years in a rufeege camp in Thailand before coming to the US with no money and no help. That's besides the point though because did you even know there was such a genocide? In addition did you know there's an estimated 3million Cambodians killed? Many bodies, such as my grandfather have not been found. Thats 3 million people from one country the size of Missouri killed in less than 4 years.

So be glad that people around the world know and recognize the dark times that your family went through because 99% of the world has no clue what mine went through even though the ideolgies between the two are nearly identical. :shakes head: :ugh2:

Also I'll finish it with this, I would like to see Germany play Argentina on Sunday and lose. And I would like the Dutch to beat Brazil. Those are my predictions

happytheman 07-08-2014 09:13 PM

What is this FIFA that everyone's talking about?

Haha. I wasn't sure if Brazil knew they had a game today, let alone the semi finals

I hate when people use "Nazi" to describe someone who enforces rules or demands a higher standard of performance from people.
I also hate "anal" when people mean to say particular.

I wasn't super offended but thanks for the reply and insight into your family history as well :tiphat:/:ugh2:

Yes in school I took world history and world religions and other interesting/easy courses in high school, anyway we did learn about the unfortunate events that happened to your ancestors. It is terrible to think that these kind of people got away with killing millions of innocent people :shakes head: it's truly sickening!

I am second generation here but I a thankful for the opportunity I was given.
