I still remember it vividly too. Its crazy how I can't remember what I was doing two days ago at all, but I can recall the events of eight years ago like it just happened an hour ago.

I remember waking up to go to school, looking at the news and seeing the first one get hit. I thought to myself "well...someone shouldn't have been a pilot". Zero period was PE, so we were waiting in the hall and the TV was on...and I remember the news anchor going "oh my god..." as the second struck. Absolutely dumbfounded...didn't do anything for the rest of the day other than think about what I had just seen.
I'm with you Jordan, that day is still very, very vivid. It's nice to see at least some of us haven't forgotten. |

I was in fifth grade, and always watched MSNBC with Matt L, all them and I seen the World trade centers were on fire, so I told my dad that they were on fire and then had to leave for school it was like the 2nd day of school or first day one of the two. My teacher had toxemia and had to call the president to fly out, then we all learned what happened... it was crazy!

I was getting up to go to work and when I turned on the TV the first plane had just hit and to my horror I saw the second plane hit. I will never forget the sick and helpless feelings that I was going through. We should never forget. God Bless all who lost loved one's it's a painful reminder.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in 8th grade English class. When the principle walks in. Asks the teacher if she had told us. She came in and told us that there had been a major crash in NY, and that we should not tell our little brothers or sisters. My mother even came and got us from school. Took us home and than I say it. I could not believe it. Yes we will never forget.

i remember it clearly.. its a day i will never forget..
I wake up one morning like any other day.. ofcourse the tv is on and my family and i are getting ready for our normal day. me middle school 7th gradee brothers elementary and my dad was at work already and my mom was getting our breakfast ready and waking up my lil bros. i see this and i think its like a commercial or a trailer to some movie. so i think nothing of it.. and at that instant i hear the news anchor (like mentioned above) that the second has hit, if i recall correctly. i got chills and for about 15 minutes my family and i froze. so i get to school and i recall sitting in class, and the very few classrooms with tvs, were all tuned in on this. i was shocked i couldnt believe this was happening |

I was in the 8th Grade. I was in gym, and one of the other students who came in late was talking about it, but no one believed him at the time. When we got to our next period we saw all the teachers crying and stuff. Air Force One flew over later on when the President came to Barksdale to give a press conference. When I got home, my dad was already there, and he told me something about the alarm condition and that his duty hours had been extended so he was going back to base. That's when it really sunk in I guess because he was always on duty after that, then he got deployed a few months later.

I was at the on-base club in Yokosuka, Japan when I saw the first plane hit on TV at the bar. I was on my out, so shortly after I was back on the ship and everyone was watching TV and I saw that a second plane hit. Shortly after that our ship went to Modified Zebra condition (all hatches below a certain deck are closed) and they were flying the recall flag. This was somewhere around 10pm over there. The next day we were loading on ammo and missiles, and two days later we were out to sea.
I remember sitting a couple miles off the coast of Afghanistan and I know it wasn't near as scary as being in the thick of it all, but it wasn't pleasant. I had just arrived to Japan (my first ship) on August 29th, and that was the first time I went to sea and we were at sea for 96 straight days before we pulled in anywhere. Seeing anything like documentaries or TV shows or movies covering those events still brings tears to my eyes to this day. Definitely not something to be forgotten.

We were all dismissed and we had to walk back home NO SUBWAY cuz of that ANTHRAX scare. I'll never forget that day. I remember this very well, I was in 8th grade math class when my teacher Ms. Vargas turned on the t.v. and bam the 2nd plane struck the tower... My middle school and high school was combined and they didn't even send us home and my school was pretty close to that area. One thing I will say is that 911 still seems fishy to me. Oh, did I mention it was my close friend's bday on 9/11/89. What a way to remember...
RIP to all those lost.
