used to be. Had a couple electric RC cars I would race around my street. Been meaning to get into planes and helis since I was 13 but always put the $$$ towards something else. Someday...

I used to, now i just got a little micro heli (e-flite blade mcx) but i don't really consider it rc, just a toy lol. I used to have an actual heli and beginner plane but the biggest thing i was into was trucks, i had a hpi savage 4.6ss, a revo and a stampede and a mini or two but then just lost interest and sold everything off. I wouldn't mind having that savage kicking around again though, that thing was fun. What i really want is a savage flux HP, that thing is unreal but i can't justify dropping 1300-1500 bucks on something like that lol. That hobbie is a damn money pit.

Nope This was way before taking pictures was easy, hahaha. Well ok, taking them was still easy but I was always too lazy to get them developed and took forever to finish a roll of film so I could get them developed. So I never took many pics as a kid.

ya those little helis are actually really fun to fly, and tough as hell too. When he says 3d he means a type of crazy aerobatics lol, its like making it look like your plane is out of control when you have it in control the whole time, its pretty sweet. You can do it with heli's too. Here are some pics of my trucks:

apparently i took way more pics of my revo than my savage lol even though the revo was a POS compared to the savage.

edit: and apparently the one of my savage is tiny lol dunno why but w/e

Oh I get it. I also fly stunt kites and we have a similar "broken string" style of flying where you make the kite twist and flip and spin and it looks like your strings are twisted out of control yet the kite is fully recoverable.

Some of the things people can do with RC helicopters is just mind boggling to the extreme - the flips and spins and circles while facing upwards. Craziness

search 3d planes on you tube. most of the stunts do not make them look like they are out of control. they are slow flying, stunt planes. you can make them hover, or hover and move sideways (looks like camera tricks when you watch almost). VERY hard to fly, just like helicopters.

id say my favorite RC sport is boats, by a long way. it took awhile before i jumped on board with my friends since they dont "sound" fun, but man, what a blast. ive got a fiberglass boat that is about 3' long, weighs about 45 lbs, but does north of 70mph. low maintence, hold up in crashes, all around very fun when you get them on a course to race.
