the only gripes i have about it so far is atleast for PS3 you gotta got through like 10 load screens and start up menus to play the damn thing... and the drift events to me so far are impossible. i cant get the cars to drift right. in the other NFS's is was simple in this game i just cant get the hang of it.

also once you get to teir 3 the medium difficulty is ******* hard!!!


graphics are good. they actually look the best in 3rd person view not cockpit.. but the in cockpit animations when the cars wreck is revolutionary to race games the impact is unlike what youve seen before. it gives you a real sensation of confusion and disorientation.. when the car smacks the wall... and like i said with a nice logitech GT wheel the physics( except for the drift that i dont understand) make it one of the funnest driving games ive played. the career mode is really straight foward and you end up driving other type cars that what you own as much as the cars you buy.. kinda like PGR in a way.. it could have been a little more detailed in this aspect

but

i give it a 8.7 out of 10 and was say go pick it up for sure!

Picked it up tonight but I'm too tired to play. Might play after work tomorrow...at least I have Friday off.

*I went with the PS3 version. (s/n IMWEZL) I refuse to buy another Gold account on Xbox after my Elite had the Ring of Death. It's fixed but still they should have solved that issue a while back.

This game is entertaining, but for me nothing to write home about. Like I had said before it'll quench my gaming thirst till Forza arrives.

All though I found it funny the only race I've had a semi-problem with winning was against a 370. I'm currently at 48 wins 0 losses.

last one I played was need for speed hot pursuit 2...I think its gonna stay that way.

this is gonna be a rental, that's about it. forzaaaaaaaaaaa

That's basically where the series ended. This is a pretty fun racing game. Nothing NFS has accomplished before, they were always fun arcade racers. Might be worth a rent, if you like racing games. I'd recommend renting before buying though.

isnt forza coiming out soon? ima go rent NFS now tho to see how it is. i was a hardcore fan...then i got an xbox and...forza. NFS is just not real enough. and Undercover was soooo horrible. ahh.

just learned i had 8500 points with my chase ultimate rewards card. they had this for 7500 points for the ps3. its in the mail.

IGN gave this a 9/10, and we all know the game snobs that they are, bought it, love it. My 370 has 700hp, its a beast. And for those waiting on Forza, fuk it, buy this one too!

Graphics are really good and the game play is a lot of fun. I think the options are important though, one setting was way too easy so backing down the settings make the game a bit more challenging.

Overall, I do like it...

I've never played Forza so I'll check that out too! Good thing all these games are coming out with winter right around the corner.

Hasn't the main idea of NFS always been driving through the cities and country avoiding cops, which is what made it fun..what happened :(

i think once you get into the game the difficulty is VERY unbalanced. like some races i'll be 10 secs + ahead of the next car then like say the carrera GT race at spa.... it gets insane everyone is wrecking into you you cant see and can you have no idea were you are and you have to run a perfect lap to stay even in the top 7. you have to play it more like a video game and wreck people than a true sim.

then the cat battles at the ring i will have to retry it like 5 times and i can have a perfect corner and the car either passes me or is never more than like.4 secs behind

so it goes from easy to insanely hard the back to easyish

^ totally true. I was in the tier 2 races, and was balling out of control with money lol so I gave my e36 M "the works". Now mind you when I just had the level three performance parts I was smoking the guy you have to face in the 370. After I did the works and pretty much doubled if not more my performance stats, the Z had no problem magically keeping up if not passing me. WTF? Like MC said this is entertaining but by no means a sim. Fun game though, I enjoy it.

that a$$hole in that black 370 was hard to beat.

is it just me, or does it seem pointless to upgrade your car? Seems like it because every damn car pretty much matches your handling and speed... like the computer compensates for your cars mods by evening the competitions capabilities..

man i do enjoy grid...mybe i should trade in undercover for shift..i finished undercover in 1 day...and was definitely unimpressed....makes me hesitate to buy another nfs game

Nope you are correct. Regardless of what you have the competition will keep up.

I hear you...this one is pure racing but they've done a good job. Need for Speed undercover is good if you want to be chased by cops. Problem with that game is that it becomes repetitive after a bit where Shift changes things up quite a bit to keep it interesting.

My guess would be to keep the racing interesting, it wouldn't be fun to race a 700HP car VS a 300HP car.

This is a VERY fun game to play. I have been playing here and there. I love the handling. Graphics are truly amazing. There are some really cool features in this game. The unbelievably accurate cockpit views and ability to FEEL for the car are couple of them. You can feel the car go sideways at 140 MPH where in other games it's not as accurate. I give it Two :tup: :tup: .

Not too many options Angie, but the cockpit views and realism are pretty much un-paralleled to any game besides possibly Test Drive Unlimited. You still have a lot of freedom in paint/decal schemes though.
