no, i think you should seriously buy one that is pre-made and just mod it to your liking...

I think that if you're asking how to do this, it's too big a project to have as your first big DIY.

You could buy a T-Rex. It has a motorcycle engine.

Right, buy a premade one and pull out the motor and swap it. You'll have some fitment hurdles, but far less than making your own. And then you'll have to start finding the weak links as no one can help you with that until you find the issues.

This^^^^^ Having raced them for years I wouldn't trust many people to weld up a frame for a "go-Kart" with a 250cc motor. I hit over 110 on mine on a race track, no way would I trust that to many people. If you were doing a more reasonable motor then maybe, but you are talking a shifter kart........They haul ***.

This may be a good place to look for the brake and suspension parts you'll need to upgrade on an existing kart once you put way too much power to it.

Best bet is to find an old formula SAE car. While a little larger than a normal kart, they would be more in line with what you're trying to do. The one from where I went to school used the motor out of a CBR 600 fwiw.
Example

So something really fast, built by inexperienced hands and using cheap parts? Was your goal to become a Darwin award recipient?
