I don't want to break the bank, though, so I'm trying to keep it fairly simple. I'm thinking a Canon HF20 would be fine, and I honestly don't care if I go for a refurb to keep costs down. I even see HG10 refurbs for $399 or so and looking at sample footage it all looks fairly nice. I'm trying to keep costs below $500.
