Its the pink wire coming off the pioneer harness.

im not using it on my car, but i think it can raise the volume when you reach a certain speed. i think it was like 45mph or something. im not sure if the Z's base HU supports it though...

i know my G's bose supports it but imho it's really annoying so i dont use that feature.

Dude, Im pretty sure its for the GPS feature, I'm actually like 80% sure of that. Your speed integrated with the GPS really locks down the specifics of your trip, i.e. expected time of arrival based off the speed your going.
