im going to my local costco today see if they have it in their warehouse. I can pick it up there no delivery needed for me.

You have a forklift and truck? Shipped weight was north of 800 lbs. And the shipping is free anyway, it's the liftgate service they charge you for.

I want to say they drop ship it anyway.

i would need a custom garage for one of those, mine is not high enough

Austonian 03-25-2014 12:36 PM

You shouldn't need to have a crazy high ceiling, i dont think you would have too much trouble using it for major service but it's really just for easily getting underneath the car and tire changes...etc.

You don't. I've got a 9" ceiling and I can use the full height of the lift.

Austonian 03-25-2014 12:39 PM

^^yea i saw pics of your setup awhile back, very nice.

Chuck33079 03-25-2014 12:43 PM

Considering one of these things costs just a little more than an a name brand cat back and test pipes or less than a good set of coilovers, I'm shocked more people haven't bought one. I'm kicking myself for not doing it earlier. For a car guy, having a lift is life changing.

What about these? Anyone have one? I just ordered one for work!

Racecar Pit Lift Jacking System - QuickJack

It's small and portable and lifts 3500lbs. Only good for 20" though so not the best solution. Price is right though!

That's the best part. And you can use it even if you're renting, where the one in the OP won't fly unless you own the garage.

I just looked through a few quick pics but is there a safety for this setup? No way I'm comfortable crawling under a car if the only thing holding it over me is the hydraulic ram.

Chuck's setup is fantastic! Pretty sure my G has spent more time on it than his Z.:rofl2:

ufoz8mycow 03-25-2014 01:31 PM

Whoa... $2k is a lot cheaper than i thought one of these would be.

Pretty easy to install too assuming you have a hammer drill for concrete.

Yes, it has a safety arm that locks into place at full lift height. But I would still throw jackstands under for piece of mind!

Another option for garages with normal ceiling heights.
