What are you reading right now?

This may go over like a fart in church, but I figured we've got at least a couple of readers in the group. I'm almost caught up on my reading list, so throw out some suggestions.

Here's where I'm at right now-
Finishing up James S A Corey's second Expanse novel
Put A Song of Ice and Fire on hold until GRRM gets off his *** or the TV show catches up to me

What's everybody else reading?

Non stop technical stuff for work. Often interesting, but mostly done for work - science or policy. Last book I read for fun was on human migrations out of Africa and across the planet. Lots of interesting stuff, but nerdy.

Chuck33079 03-18-2014 12:44 PM

Yeah, I've got a ton of stuff to read for work at all times, but Ive been making an effort this year to get at least a chapter a day of something I'm reading for pleasure.

I must agree....not many people actually read anymore. Despite what Amazon Kindle owners say.

Chuck33079 03-18-2014 02:19 PM

Yeah, I knew there wouldn't be a huge turnout for this one. :rofl2:

And i love my Kindle.

sorry

Currently, I'm reading the Foundation series (on Foundation's Edge) and a series called "The Spellmonger Series".

Chuck33079 03-19-2014 07:18 AM

I'll have to track both of those down.

The Foundation Series (Isaac Asimov) is a tough read. I feel like every character in the series is a thousand times smarter than I am, just because of Asimov's writing style. I do love my Kindle though.

Yeah, I remember giving one of them a shot a long, long time ago and not getting into it. The same with the Rama books. Now that I'm not 12 and can handle a book that takes its time getting to the point, I may enjoy them more.

Asimov is in the Top 10 on my Favorite Writers List. He was one of the most prolific and diverse writers I've seen. Text books, Sci-fi, ribald humor, mysteries, ...

DEpointfive0 03-19-2014 07:58 AM

I'm reading the title of this thread.

I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Asimov as a child either, but I love his writing now, I can't put the books down.
