Takin' the Z to see the Dragon
Family vacation this year, was able to convince all to travel to Gatlinburg, and rent a luxury cabin in the smokies..Just so happens its only an hour from the Dragon and the Skyway!!:excited: Hopefully We will come back in one piece, and Ticket-free!
Had to dump some coin into the cabin, but it should be a great trip! |

If you can drive the Cherohala Skyway too. Really great roads and awesome scenery out there. I did those in the Z when she was a few months old. Bucket list for sure.

Trip was a blast.. Here is the Z and my Grandson at the cabin... Ran the Dragon and the Cherahola skyway myself early one morning (almost hit a bear) then returned with the Fiancee the following day, and ran it both directions. Even got a smile out of her by the end of the run!! No holding back, I pushed it to the best of my ability, and I'm not sure that the Z, being all stock had much more to offer Safely.:driving:
Our cabin was sweet as well. Indoor pool, and 2 hot tubs. All in all a great trip, we all talked about going back next year. |
How was the weather up there?
Its been 3 digit humid over in FL |
Very cool! I've always wanted to go there. My best friend went last summer and said it was a "must". Cool pic of the highway sign too! Glad you guys had fun

Funny story...we stayed in a cabin just outside pigeon forge, so I followed my GPS one morning early, like 7:30 am, and it took me over the foothills parkway, along a lake, and into the dragon from the backside. I did notice the sign I posted, but they are littered all around the rockies, so I didn't give it a second thought. My GPS still had me going 23 miles to get to the dragon. As I was traveling this ridiculously long and winding road, I thought to myself "what the hell am I driving another 20 miles for, this road is off the hook!!" Next thing I know, I'm standing in the store drinking a coffee with the cashier, and she says "for some reason, GPS can't find us very accurately" I had driven it backwards!! I finished my coffee, ran it from start to finish, and turned around, and tore it up again before heading over to the skyway.
Ran it the same way the following morning with her, and the photog's were out, so I'm heading to their site to buy some of my pics. |
