i use the motive but the one that suctions out fluid from the caliper side. :tup:

going to be doing the G's brembo brake bleed when i swap wheels in a few weeks... :excited: might do my Z's too. it's still on stock fluid but the brakes dont feel spongy (sp?) at all. i decided that until the brakes feel bad not to swap fluid cause i can basically swap fluid any time.

Got a link for that motive bleeder? I typically just borrow my buddy's standard one, but he will be moving out of town in a few months. I'm trying to decide whether to get one myself or just gravity bleed from now on.

I did one early on to change out the stock fluid to ATE Super Blue, then a dealer changed it for me without my permission when I was getting some diagnostic work done, so I did another change back to the ATE Super Blue a few weeks after that when I installed new front rotors and pads. I'm going to do another one soon because I have extra brake fluid that can't sit around for too long (I don't want moisture to seep through the plastic bottle which can happen over time).

i bought mine from griots but it is a motiv extractor. it's the one with a large cainster and hand pump at the top like this.

i have a motive brake fluid replenish bottle that locks onto the car. it has a special valve to allow flow or stop the flow as needed. :D but if you keep an eye on the brake fluid you dont really need any special tools to replenish. just add more as the level goes down. :icon17:

one thing i highly recommend doing is placing a fairly large towel around and tuck under the brake fluid reservoir before starting the work. :D

nothing like sneezing while adding brake fluid and spilling it into the engine bay. :ugh:

btw, wats the shelf life of a typical brake fluid unopened bottle? i have a dot3/4 valvoline from like 3yrs ago i was going to use on my G this spring. this will be the last bleed before i sell the car.

Brake fluid does not have a shelf life. If sealed properly, it lasts forever. But because of brake fluid's properties to absorb water, it usually spoils after some time in storage. New sealed containers will last forever. Once opened and exposed to the atmosphere, brake fluid begins to absorb water.
