Freezing destruction
I have had the most amazing night/morning. At about 3:30am I went to use the restroom upstairs and I heard a crash against my house. I went outside to investigate and found a large branch that had fallen against my house/roof. It barely missed my Satellite dishes. (whew) As I walked out farther in my pajamas, I could hear cracking everywhere (must have been the new witching hour or something) I walked onto Jordan's (my friend/tenant) driveway. It was completely silent. Just me and the cold freezing rain. Suddenly, POP, crack, and half of a tree snapped in half accross the street. I watched and waited, and then POP crack, another huge branch down the street went down. I was really amazing to be the only one up and witnessing the freezing rain cause destruction around me. Kind of a peaceful destruction. I have been seeing this for most of the night, and have been watching in awe. There is a huge tree about to go down...I'm just waiting for the next boom. Freezing rain is an amazing thing in nature.
That is all -Garrett It is going to be a busy morning. Chainsaws for all! Anyone else experience anything neat or otherwise regarding this winter blast? Last edited by BanningZ; 12-21-2008 at 08:25 AM. |

Well, the winter weather made it down here and made life difficult for us in the mountains, but other than the usual BS, nothing strange or amazing. The next wave of rain/snow/ice is due early next week. If it gets bad again, I'll leave the Miata at work and borrow the old diesel Humvee.
