The Ninja 650cc is a-whole-lot of bike for a beginner, it is a big bike. it will out-accelerate the Corvette C6 ZO6 60' per 60'. I started with a 2.19 s 60' @ 8.4 s 1/8th and am at 7.93 s with a 1.9 60' completely stock...this is faster than the ZO6, launch per launch 60'. "Yes, it is!" A Ninja 250cc was fine with me, to start-out with - High MPG's & easy to ride. I have owned both, & can't really recommend a beginner starting with a 650cc. If you live on an island like Puerto Rico, you will not need anything bigger than a 250cc.
