Drive a Las Vegas: FERRARI F430 F1, 5 Laps

I have. Drove the 458 italia for two sessions and did the drift ride along. What a great time! They let you push the car pretty hard. Better than I was expecting

Mitco39 01-16-2014 03:33 PM

Nope but we did this...

Rented a 458 for 6 hours. Best part about the whole thing was the sound of it. Having a boosted Z the speed did not overly impress me much. But the sound was amazing.

I would say its worth doing at least one time. My dad and I plan on going back to drive the Aventador as I am trying to convince him to purchase one. LOL

1. We got it from these guys -> Las Vegas Exotic Car Rental - Vegas Luxury Rides. It was ~1200 for 6 hours or 100 miles. A little pricey, but the real kicker was you were not allowed to rev it over 8500rpm if I remember correctly. Which is a shame because that is where the engine really comes to life. Probably wouldnt do anything like that again for that reason alone. I would however consider a track day like was mentioned in this thread.

2. haha. Depends how much you're willing to pay.

The italia redlines at 9K so your not missing that much power just an even better sound. They make you short shift the car a little at the track day as well but you can flog it in the corners which is what that car is truly about anyways

Wonka2581 01-16-2014 05:17 PM

Very ture, And how the hell would they know if you redline it?? Hell drive it like you stole it..:icon17:

There is an instructor sitting passenger during the runs. He has a foot brake and I assume would grab the wheel if things get messy but he never stepped in with me driving. They tell you when to shift on the straights and such although after a few laps I was always a step ahead of the guy so he stopped wasting his breath. Lol. As I said, they do let you push the cars pretty hard and I liked the layout of the track. Even the "discovery lap" the guy was hucking that Cayenne pretty good. All in all a great experience

Mitco39 01-16-2014 05:24 PM

Well the guy said when he handed us the keys that every time you go over the 8500rpm its a $2500 bill. Needless to say I didnt want to find out if he was bluffing or not. haha.

raymondo510 01-22-2014 11:16 PM

This is pretty cool, always thought about doing it but it seemed a bit pricey for me

exsanity 01-23-2014 12:09 AM

I think I'll do this just for a chance at one of these supercars.

Pintsize725 01-25-2014 06:25 PM

I bought a 3 lap run on an autox course for my hubby. He enjoyed it and I was jealous.

I'd give him the keys back, tell him to fúck off and die, and write him a bad review as well as a bad review from my friends' accounts

Are you sure about that foot brake? I can't see them installing that...

Sorry, I enjoy hitting the redline, it's not bad for the car. And I don't want them to BS me

eastwest2300 01-25-2014 07:40 PM

You gotta get that carbon outta the engine... haha.. and the only way to do it is to open it up a lil bit.

I did the 458 for two sessions and a Gallardo BiColoure for two sessions. 458 is probably the best car I've ever driven, I felt like I was "one" with the car. Definitely recommend doing it.

Pearl Z 01-30-2014 05:14 PM

One of my customers brought his 08 F430 into my shop, and let me drive it! So much fun!! If it doesnt rain he said I get to take it home for the night, and he takes my Z!!! :D

Haboob 01-31-2014 12:16 PM

I did the dream car drive (like Pint bought for her husband)... same car too (F430). They let us take it to redline (would autoshift anyways), but the straight was so short that you would get to 3rd then have to brake and downshift (I opted for the paddles vs auto, yet it still auto shifts at redline). Even stepped the back-end out a bit and the guy said it was all good.

For $100, it was worth it. Any more than that and I'd have to pass, unless they were going to allow us to go a few more laps.

Chuck33079 01-31-2014 12:23 PM

I did a similar event, and I was really unimpressed with the 430. It had fantastic turn-in, but that was about it. It wasn't particularly fast. It sounded fantastic, though. They had a Gallardo as well. Next time I'll try that one out.

Now the ride-along I won in a LFA was the exact opposite. I didn't expect much and was completely blown away.
