I am assuming this situation is the reason behind rinseless wash products? Are the rinseless wash towels necessary? Or can you just use a regular microfiber towel or a drying towel as long as they are high quality?
i use my regular (high quality) mf detailing towels for waterless wash. the griot's green towels are my choice.. the ones they sell with the carwash set. they are excellent (well, that's after you remove the tags completely )

Yeah. This is one of better places in town for sure (Suzi's). I drove by their location the other day, and the building was completed demolished Then I looked up at the sign and it said "Remodeling - Re-open March 2014". That's one hell of a remodel Quick, too

as for wax durability.... i use alcohol to remove old wax when i switch between polymer and natural wax.

if it's the same type, i just apply over the old.

these days i only use spray wax/polymers on my hobby cars.

these are the ones i use:

Micro Fiber Spray-On Car Wash Cloths, Set of 3 - Griot's Garage

they are great because it has the longer threads on BOTH sides unlike most MF detailing towels.

I've used paste wax exclusively on the Z (except for one panel testing out Meguiar's Spray Wax), though I know I should be using a sealant for better durability. But to be honest, the paint is in such good condition for a 3 yr old 50K mile DD, I don't have any regrets.

The stuff I used recently is a liquid wax and the depth... OMG

By the way Ken, I saw a taffyapple at the local Target the other day with...I'm not kidding here....seven (7) bags of pork rinds in his cart.

sounds good. i use griot's one-step paint sealant on my dd before winter. the other times just Prima Hydro (polymer spray). that polymer is quite durable and since i wash my dd at least once every 2wks, it gets plenty of layers of polymer sprayed on it while i dry.

on my Z and G, all i use is SpeedShine. and SprayOn Wax on the front bumper to make it real slick to remove bug easier. water beads like crazy on those cars which is cause i use QD most of the time. i only wash my Z and G once a year at best using water... 99% of the time i go waterless if they are dirty.

I've stopped bothering to wax the front bumper because it is so riddled with rock chips

I'm really tempted to try a sealant this Spring. Then I'll use the natural wax as an enhancement on top of the sealant. I've heard nothing but good things about the Prima Hydro.

yah, at that point it's best to get that painted i suppose, and get it clearbra'ed.

yah, i do use SprayOn wax over polymers and it can look fantastic. it depends on the finish you want. on my silver cars, very shiny is fine, but if you do that on darker colors your car will suddenly become invisible. (very reflective).

that's one reason why i say "No to Zaino." too plasticy shiny.
