It probably wouldn't be a miles driven tax versus gas tax, it'll be both. They won't get rid of gas tax and replace it, they'll keep the gas tax and add the miles driven tax. I think already in some of the northeastern states, they have a state tax for miles driven. Just as there are state and federal gas taxes, there will probably be state and federal miles driven taxes.
