Hiding License Plates in Photos
Has anyone else thought it's ridiculous that people blur out or hide their license plates when they take photos of their cars? Members do it all the time on this site as well as countless others.
What's so secret about your license plate? You drive around with it uncovered every time you're in your car! It's not a social security number for the love of God. End of venting... |

Now on the open road you really do not have people sitting down writing plates down tracking people. On the internet you have lots of people with free time and nothing better to do than hurt others. They see a nice car (take 2theextremes), and figure he has some money. Take his plate and you can quickly gather some information about where he lives, driving record, etc. It is better to be cautious, you never know who you can truly trust.

You can get a whole lot of info just from a license plate. Most people do not want everybody on the internet know where they live. I don't see you putting your mailing address in your signature or anything If someone is already there next to your car, yes they can follow you straight to your home and become a stalker or something. Once you put something on the internet, you can safely assume it will exist forever no matter what. Internet often has a lot of people with a lot of time on their hands. That makes it dangerous alone.
Yes I spend a lot of time editing photos and videos to make sure I cover as much as I can. |
