Not reading keyboard...prob bad usb port...did you try a dif keyboard? Or try another port, or another usb device in that same port.
Hubby got mad at our desk top once, threw the mouse and cost us 300 bucks to fix!

Computer stuff is a pita.

It's a laptop, I've had for 4 years , was fine earlier in the day, come home from work and all the sudden while on it, it started acting weird and not letting me click things , type anything , looks like a trip to the local PC shop

Oh yeah. Laptop totally different animal. They are pretty inexpensive. After 4 years may be time for an upgrade, or a tablet. I love my ipad. We have 4 people in our family-3 ipads and a mini laptop (hubby prefers the laptop).
