Gasoline: TOP TIER versus Non-TOP TIER Usage
All,
Food is to the human body as gasoline is to an automobile. The discussion of the use of gasoline appears to be a missing information gap on this forum. Very little information is available. Since this forum has already discussed in the past the use of various oil brands and viscosity types, I would like for the members of this forum to list the name brand (TOP TIER) or generic brand (non-TOP TIER) gasoline used in their Z cars. In conclusion, maybe the Moderator can take the collected data and graphically display a histogram chart that quantitatively compares TOP TIER versus non-TOP TIER gasoline Z car owners. There isnt much option to choose from and i dont think we really need a chart for gasoline usage.
It could be different depending on where you are from and what grade of gasoline you have access to. For Socal, i think Chevron and Shell will be my top choice. Theres a noticeable gain in throttle response with Shell gasoline but that could just be me. Not to mention we only have access to 91 Octane from regular gas pumps here |

I think Chevron is the worst gas for our cars. Shell is definitely the best gas. The engine feels powerful and very smooth with 93 v-power.

Honestly don't pay attention to where i fill up. Usually its Kroger or HEB haha

there is a gas tanker fill station in delmont,pa I pass it all the time, at certain times of the day you can see all the tankers fill up...get go, source, bp, sunoco, I have seen countless differernt brands...I know they claim they add extra stuff after the fact but it generally all the same unless you step up to race gas...IMO. 92 or 93 whichever the station has that is.

I go where its cheapest, and 93 octane.. I keep the gas tank full..always!

I also don't care what gas I put in as long as it's 91. I'm actually only aware of one 93 station (and only by word-of-mouth, never been there personally) in central Iowa and it's not really all that near me.

Power not withstanding, does anyone know if there is any difference from a wear and tear "health of engine" perspective in pumping 89 or 91 over 93?
