Stop being so rich please and thanks!
Don't you hate it when you have a sexy *** 370z and then all of a sudden you see a 20 year old with a 70,000 dollar corvette C7 3LT packaage and Z51 package. WTF!?
|
i had to google this because i forgot the exact quote, but here's something someone (probably googled) and sent to me one time:
Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind. |
Wow that was really deep haha. Man your right and I completely agree. I am pleased now.
|
I agree all that matters is being happy. I was happy when I made a quarter of what I make now. Appreciate what you have earned for yourself, in the long run you will be better off. I like to use people more wealthy than myself as motivation. Now I am also a realist and know I will never own a Lamborghini without hitting the lotto and I don't play the lotto so I'm SOL haha!

You guys are some real people. Sti, evo, stang, camaro forums are not like this. Deep rooted people here!

nope.... cos I got what I have through my own hard work and hard earn-money. the other's just got it granted because he is being spoiled.. |
What do you have that he doesn't?
Answer: Z. Seriously though, it doesn't mean he's happy. To some people, it's never enough. |
I have a friend who's dream car is a 458 Italia. It's reasonable for him to expect the means to acquire one in the next few years, given his career trajectory, so it is a real aspirational goal he has his heart set on. Unfortunately for him, he sours when he sees other young(er) presumptively less deserving acquaintances pick up his dream car first.
I can't wrap my head around why a smart driven person would let someone else's purchases or success make him unhappy, especially when he's in a perfectly enviable situation himself. Whenever some event makes me feel envious, I try to distill the objective change from before said event to the present... usually it's nothing material. When I recognize that, the envy melts away. As for kids getting corvettes.. he's (or his parents, whatever) just one more purchaser convincing auto manufacturers to keep making legitimate performance packages. It's a good thing for all of us. |
Ummmmm, nope. I don't give a rats a$$ what other rich kid drives. I'm enjoying mine. My neighbor got himself a Cayman vert and I said to myself, you go bro, have fun with your oil change. I figured, mine looks say better rolling down the street or on the driveway. Stop worrying about others bro.

Rich Asian kids all over the place... Getting work done on my car, and I constantly see them pull up.. 18 - 20+ year olds driving AMGs, Porches, GTRs, etc.. Just dropping money like it was nothing... But it all comes down to how you look at it... If you're purchasing just to please others then you will never be happy... Its like modding.. it never ends! But if you get because you always wanted one, then like Alcheng said, it just feels nice to see your blood and sweat sitting on your drive way being all sexy that you wanna touch it, caress it, stare at it..... Uhm.. err.. I'm getting a little carried away.. But you know what I mean... :excited: |

Had a pastor once who mentioned something very wise about contentment: "Contentment is wanting what you already have." That was over 20 years ago, and I've never forgotten that. |

What pisses me off more? When I see an 18 year old driving a Z that daddy bought him. I worked long and hard to afford a car like this and some parent is stupid enough to give their kid one? BS.

Life isn't amount $$. If you're chasing money then you'll never be happy. Enjoy the moments and experiences.

honey badger dont care

i grew up on ramen noodles, and powdered milk. my friends in high school had vipers and corvettes. few years later i was hanging with guys with bentlys, lambos, etc...
did it bother me? when i was young yes. then i hung out with some of these guys, they didnt know how to start a dish washer, change their oil, cook food, etc... then i realized, i pitty them, they have material things i may never have, they dont appreciate anything, and they will never truly live theyre lives. its unfortunate. |

This.. Life's to Short to care about who has what car. |
And how old is the OP exactly?
Stop being so rich? Really? How do you know the driver of that car is so young? Did you actually ask for his ID? Maybe his parents are well off or won the lotto or whatever, I don't see a problem with it. They spend their money on whatever they want. As long as the kid isn't being douchey about it doing illegal stuff and revving at every stop light, it's fine. |

You should go to Barrett-Jackson in Vegas. Talk about big shots who openly flaunt thier money and want you to know it.

ain't nobody got time for this!

The 370z is an entry level sports car.. Nothing special. Even g37 drivers a car under 40,000 know they don't want to pay that much for a Nissan.

I once met a 16 year old whose father purchased her a brand new 911 Turbo Cabriolet for her birthday. If you have the money, why not? |
