Its not critical. The recommended interval change is 30K. I changed mine out for Redline Synthetic at around 15K miles. Search around and you will find plenty of information

Differential fluid is pretty nasty stuff regardless of how old it is. It stinks bad and you want to avoid prolonged exposure to your skin.
