no photoshop. not retouched in any way. the road is below the trail I was standing on when i shot this. It's one hairy little piece of real estate. Emerald Bay to the north; Fallen Leaf Lake to the south; and a narrow strip of pavement along the ridge of the mountain.

For those of you who don't live within a 2 hr drive of this beautiful place - too bad.

Then you know! Driving along that narrow ridge is something you want to do while paying strict attention to what you're doing. Not a time to be texting. It's a 20' wide strip of pavement that drops off 1000' on both sides of the road.

I've been thinking of where I might like to live if I didn't live here. Austin comes to mind often. I was born in Harlingen, TX so I have kind of a soft spot for Texas. Do you like Austin?

I really don't want to eat mac&cheeze every day at the retirement home.
