Golf clubs don't fit back there, so they ride shotgun. When I have opened it w/locked doors I just press the one button I know and it unlocks, then pops the hatch (I always have the FOB on me). |

Though, It's a bit easier when they're in the passenger seat. I don't have to worry about scratching any of the paint when taking them out or putting them in. |

are you saying that you can open the hatch without pushing the button underneath it? Please don't tell me there's another way to open it and all this time I didn't know. If that's true, please just be gentle with me.

There is not another way. The rectangular button by the latch is the only way to physically open the hatch. You can unlock the hatch with the door panel unlock button or the fob unlock button (which you have to push twice), which will allow the hatch button to function without needing the fob, but you still have to push the button to open the hatch. The fob is only necessary if the hatch is locked, in which case pushing the hatch button once detects the fob to authorize the unlock as well as open the hatch door.

Not really. I'm careful when I put it in, but it doesn't rub against anything and there are no sharp edges. |
