Well not really although my slave cylinder went about a month ago and I upgraded with the Z speed CSC. It broke in Pennsylvania so I couldn't get it to my dealer in NJ. My experience with the dealer I left it with was completely HORRIBLE!! The mechanic got my drivers seat filthy with his dirty azz. They ruined the trim piece that's between the passenger window and the rear quarter window with some kind of solvent or something. It has all these spots all over it that aren't removable. When I went to pick it up I also found that the reverse lockout wasn't working and I could drag it right back into reverse without pushing down on the stick. I returned with the car and told them to fix it. They called a few days later and said it was all fixed. I drove 50 miles back out to PA AGAIN only to find that the problem was not remedied. I flipped out and left it there again also requiring that it be fully detailed due to the dirty seat and ruined side plastic piece. I came back and the car was detailed decently although the drivers seat was still dirty!!! The plastic piece was also still ruined. The reverse lockout however was fixed, turns out the stick itself spun around since the linkage underneath was undone to remove the trans. They blamed my dealer for the stick being incorrectly installed and I said it worked perfectly fine before I dropped it off. All in all the worst car experience Ive ever had.

Yeah we spoke the other week briefly about it. Sucks that the 40th got demolished. Whats your take on the refreshed look of your new one? Im still old school and prefer the original version. I did see a new one up close for the first time last week and I liked it more in person than in pics. Still not a fan of the LEDs on the bumper though.

The look is growing on me and I think I like it better. Of course, this may simply be a result of my subconscious wanting me to like it. I was not a fan of midnight blue at first, but it too has grown on me. Like my 40th, it looks very different in different light -- from almost purple to blue to black. Also, if there is no sunlight on it you cannot see any metallic. In bright sunlight though, it absolutely pops with sparkly goodness.

I have the intake, exhaust, sway bars and spacers done. On Friday the 9th we are installing my Konis and Swifts along with SPC camber arms and short shifter. Saturday the 10th we are doing rotors, pads, brake lines and fluid flush.

It should be good then.

I actually just sent the front right Koni out for warranty today. Had to warranty the left as well which I just got back about 2 weeks ago. Not very pleased with how these things are holding up at all. I need to take a good look at my rears struts to make sure they aren't leaking as well.

Uh oh. That's unusual in my experience with Koni. The first Koni shock I bought was back in 1979 for my 1967 Datsun 1600 roadster and I have been using them since with no troubles.

my tokico's (htc's now) have been on my G since 2005 and no issue 25K+ miles set stiff. i think the
biggest difference is hitachi's have made hundred of thousands of dampers for nissan over the years.

kenchan 07-31-2013 03:32 PM

plan of action for tonight...

first do the hamstermill walk again. my ankle was hurting a little bit after yesterday's excercise, but pain has gone away since, so I'm making progress. :D

then inpsect the clearbra that came in for my Z today. :woot:
and install the two fender front areas tonight. will do the hood tomorrow.

afterwards, going to work on measuring and preparing to move all RC gear from my basement to the garage. should occupy most of the night. :)

How come you didn't tell me that a new scratch in my hood was going to occur today  :crying:

On my way back to the office from lunch, I watched a golf ball sized chunk of dirt/rock fly almost straight off the back of a truck in the left lane (I was in the middle lane) towards my hood. It struck my hood and windshield in quick succession and left scratches on both. The scratches on the hood are fvcking ridiculous and way too deep for buffing. Two scratches parallel, each about 1/2" long and maybe 1/8" wide :shakes head: It was like watching the whole thing in slow motion, too. Unfortunately there was way too much traffic for any sort of evasive maneuver, although I'm not sure there was anything I could do regardless of the traffic

i donno, perhaps you can fill it with touchup paint and sand it down later?

that's wat im doing right now on my G. filled it higher than surrounding paint like a zit and letting it dry for a month before i take a 2000grit sanding block on it. im doing 7-8 other spots since i decided to keep my G at least for another year or two. :)

I guess I probably should. I have over 2 years worth of DD chips on the front bumper, hood, a-pillars, and roof that I can do at the same time. Is there a feasible DIY for fixing chips on the wheels? I have a really bad one on the face rear driver wheel after Melody ran over some unavoidable debris when two cars collided directly in front of her a good while back.

I would never have brought it there but I was hoping the part was gonna be covered under warranty, which it wasn't. If I had known that I would NEVER have towed it there, I would have dropped the tranny myself at my friends garage. I was so fed up with dealing with them (the car was there for a month!) that I didn't even push the fact that the plastic was damaged and the seat was dirty. Im gonna suck that up myself and fix it just because I didn't want my car there a second longer!!!!
