I leave for boot in a few days, and ive been contemplating if i should go for RPOC or not. My recruiter who is a chief says i should because

for people in the NAVY.
I leave for boot in a few days, and ive been contemplating if i should go for RPOC or not. My recruiter who is a chief says i should because its a leadership role that will help me get noticed, it will also look good toward me being special forces because it shows leadership ability. BUT on the other hand, friends in the navy and people i meet tell me not to take any staff positions and just keep my mouth shut and disappear. I know what a RPOC does and whats required of him...im just trying to figure out if its worth it...
