Whats up with the yelp reviews on GTM Motorsports?

Gt Motorsports - Rancho Cucamonga, CA
The reviews are all terrible for some odd reason..

G37sHKS 06-25-2013 06:36 AM

Well..I heard bad reviews about GTM but hey. i think they moved on and start taking care of customers.

Im very blessed with Mike@GTM. He helped me to pick what i need for my goal and he's so friendly. Hell, he even saved me from few grand by recommending what "I" need..

Matter of fact, those bad reviews are since 2010/2011, we are in mid 2013 ;)

theDreamer 06-25-2013 07:22 AM

Yelp & car service companies never seem to do well, Stillen has 2 glowing reviews & 2 horrible reviews on their yelp page.
I would say take any review, even on this forum, with a grain of salt. Do your own research and determine what you need.

It's an unfortunate thing that most people don't really give good reviews when they have a good experience, but anyone with a bad experience is ready and willing to dump that baggage out at any chance they get with everyone else, even if they're just wrong.

That's not to say those bad reviews are wrong or to ignore them, but there is definitely a lot of interpretation that needs to happen.

And, if at all possible, leave good reviews for places you like. Just like you looking for good shops, many people judge a business by their Yelp score alone...

Chuck33079 06-25-2013 08:54 AM

Yeah, yelp is really more of a place people go to vent their side of an issue, or just bash them for other reasons. There's no vetting process to make sure they're not full of ****.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the company can't pull the sponsor card and get bad reviews deleted off yelp like they can on the forums...

Actually companies can get reviews deleted off yelp very easily.
You see it all the time, and backlash about it many times.

:iagree:
Yelp is like the BBB, you pay to get bad reviews taken off. And sometimes if the place is big, then they get bad reviews, Yelp tells the company that they need "x" amount of money to keep it clean. If you don't pay "x", they take the good reviews down, and leave all the crappy ones

Didn't know that. Really sucks how they all do business, like a perpetual scam hustling the customers. I can't even count how many theads I've seen magically disappear off the forums over the years.. my350z is notorious for it. Delete the thread then ban the member that started it... SMH

I know 3 people personally, including myself who had bad experiences with GTM, and I will never do business with them again.

Oh my lord. Two to three years old and you felt you should start a thread on this. You seem to know enough about GTM to post this here. So you should know about ALL there great success too. Which is a lot.

Not sure what your intentions are. Are your seriously considering? If simply raising the issue, Yelp is not the end all be all. You have BBB as well. Maybe Angie's List idk. In addition, lot's of members here on the forum have GTM. PM them for some real life feedback. Also, you're in L.A. if you are really serious about GTM, drive out to Ontario at their shop and ask customers. Me, I only use yelp for food.

I cant say enough about gtm but on the flip side I worry about their customer service going down due to them being so busy all of the time working on new project in stuff. The only people I have ever spoken with there are Sam, Mike and Pablo so Iam hoping they will hire people in the near future so they will be able to take of their future customer who have vested in their company.. They already have almost 100 in their group buy for the new turbo setup they came out with and those people will need support in such... My car is almost setup and I hate calling them when I have a question but I have no choice and sam is getting harder and harder to reach....

Yeah, they need a couple more guys there. Phone is the only way to get in touch with them, and it can be hit and miss sometimes. I'm glad that the shop I had install my kit had done enough of them to be able to answer my questions. GTM's a good bunch of guys, and they make good stuff, but their communications are sometimes inadequate.
