I bought the red Hot Wheels then got a red Z. I am a collector, I go to Collector Days.

Awesome! So do I. I was the first ones there at 0730 and other people strolled in a minute to 9 and their tickets got called and mine never did. One of those casual latecomers got called up and found the super treasure hunt. She was dome dude's wife who wasn't interested in HW at all and just handed it over to him. I was pissed.

Yeah, pretty thrilled about the yellow Zs out there, not only HW but Maisto and some RC cars but I also collect other HW like this early GT-R and finally a Star Trek Enterprise (super hard to find here).

I have a few Maistos and technically, their color is right on with an actual Chicane Yellow Z moreso than HW but I love them all. Sorry to threadjack my own thread but this is still about Hot Wheels, not just Zs.

I have 3k hotwheel cars probably. They are in every closet at my dads house. They range in years from 1991-2001 I think its hard to remember. I have even older ones too but not complete sets. I only pick up a few here or there anymore but I do look at the pegs almost every time I walk by them.

As you can see by my total it is a hobby that adds up quickly I have to be careful not to get sucked in again. At one time my collection was probably worth 20-30k now im thinking 2-3k if im lucky. The market really took a dive back around 2001 which is why I stopped buying every one they made.

I still pick up VWs, Porsche, Z, Bus, Motorcycle, and Go-Kart I find when I walk by though. Thank god those are the more rare ones and I dont just stumble on them that often.

I should get over this week and take some pictures you guys would get a kick out of it.

It's hard to notice when it's only $1-$2 at a time. ;)

You could say I'm a collector. I have over 500 Z's ranging from smaller than a micro machine to as large as 1:10 scale. Anything from diecast, to plastic, to resin, to wood, etc. 240z-370z. I also have a small collection of other nissan/datsun from various years of the GTR, to the datsun 510, datsun 520 truck, etc. Aside from that I also have a collection of roughly 500 hot wheels, some open and some still in package. I used to collect all the first editions per year but the last 8 years I've scaled it back to only buying the cars I like.


Thats just cars. I also have a large star wars collection and a small antique weapon collection. I posted a picture of the Z collection on here about 6 months ago. I'm sure you can find it by searching for my name. Hasn't been updated in a while though.

I give up! Since they changed the treasures and supertreasuresmI'm all confused.

No joke, the 2013 series is all screwed up. The way the series is now it's very hard to know whats what.

I heard rumors of this happening when I was getting out of the hobby. Looks like I picked the right time. So like I said now I just grab the cars I like when I see them, no more worries.

Edit: By rumors I meant Mattel doing it on purpose to disrupt the chaos of the dealers/collectors.

Well thread bump and im finally going to come through with my alleged collection pictures. My wife isnt working right now so I gave her a job to sell off duplicates and things I dont want anymore.

I may have underestimated the amount of collectables I have. I have a little of everything you can think of and a LOT of Hotwheels and Sports Cards (Mostly Baseball all pre 2001).

This is just a drop in the bucket not even a full closet worth of things and I have 4 more and a a lot of stuff in my dads garage as well.

Man it has been so fun opening all the boxes and looking at things. Whats funny is im spouting out all kinds of information and variant details etc. that I had no idea I remembered. No wonder I cant remember **** anymore, my heads full of toys! Lol

Anyway here is a little taste of what I dug up today. If anyone is interested in buying some stuff let me know. It is all eventually going to make its way to eBay.
