Calculator watches...
I only recently tossed out a Zelda watch that probably still worked given a new battery. Plus a handful of those other little handheld games. Give another 10 years and we'll be adding video game cartridges (or any physical media) to the list. |

Yup, this was the craze back when I was 5th grade... my dad worked for a printing company that makes these things so he would bring home boxes and I give them away or sold them to the kids in my class lol thanks for the reminder that I'm getting old

In the "dirty" (?) south, where i have dwelled the last 15 or so years (****? really?), folks are more frisky, and partner accumulation is greater it seems, but age of onset remains in the vast 13 - 21 range. 15 (my year of achieving "manhood") was neither overly young nor overly old in my time... (and locale). Back to toys: Notwithstanding the end of some playthings' eras, there are still many coold toys out there for those of us whocan still enjoy them. I bought a limited edition "tarman" from ROTLD not that long ago (for about 1/3 of the ebay asking price). It rocks. Yay! My (relative) youth has returned!
Well, centenarians are the fastest growing age group. Somebody's gotta be making it there... ****... I remember pogs. I think they are now superseded by Beyblades or some such similar crap. Someone on here isn't even 20 yet... they can confirm...?

Hey, fellow old mutts and wild, rampaging, kids: I owned the orginal PONG.
Like the actual, real, console pong. It had something that hooked into a TV (B&W, at that) and came with paddles. This was BEFORE ATARI. It was ******* AMAZING at the time. My parents bought it, natch, and I was well behaved for a whole week in gratitude. It may have included a built in TANK game... I can't recall. I was maybe 5 or 6. If older, I can't recall... we weren't a monied family. Pong was middle class baller back then (well sort of). It was like banging two rocks together to make a spark compared to PS4, which is months away from release...

As a (as expected) disgruntled member of Gen X: I say, help educate the new generations of Reagan's absurd beatification. I can get behind Eisenhower (who cautioned against the military expansions of our "empire" he presciently noted) , but Reagan's recent sainthood mystifies... it's as if Nixon were awarded golden robes by Trudeau... l will leave off, as political threads are forbidden in the Land of Zed, and I don't wish to sully the thread.. but my request to you outside of his particular forum is sincere. Dpoint, if the thread gets closed on the basis of this post -- I apologize... if the mods clamp down, I owe you a beer.
