Ignore lists are for the weak. I do not say this lightly. If you do not like what someone says, represents, posts, etc., then just put that person on your ignore list. Then you won't have your delicate sensibilities offended by that terrible person and their awful points of view.

Ignore lists serve an additional purpose as well; you never have to rationally analyze your own belief system. If someone posts something that challenges your way of thinking or perhaps creates a bit of cognitive dissonance, then just put that person on your ignore list. Whew!!! Now you don't have to overtax your thinking by either examining your position on that troubling topic or even speak up for your self. Your paradigms remain intact. Good for you!!!

Last, just put an offensive person on your ignore list. Don't bother telling that person what they did to offend or challenge their viewpoint -- that takes thought and a little work. Don't trouble yourself.

I suspect politicians use ignore lists. I won't reveal my political positions by identifying the guilty Party (all Parties do it, but one much more so than others). I don't like what those people say, so let's not listen to them!!! Yay!!! Everything is right with my universe again. Wow -- that was a close call!!! IK almost had to think for a second. The Ignore list allowed me to dodge another bullet. Thanks ignore list!!! You saved me once again!!!

Ignore lists remind me somehow of a little kid who gets in a disagreement during play time. Instead of noodling the situation through to a resolution, the little guy just takes his ball and goes home.

Of course and as always, I have no opinion on this topic.

Here's the cliffs notes version:

Ignore list = inability to understand/accept/challenge viewpoints different than your own :D

The only comment I will make on the matter is :iagree: but I have yet to see any distinction between the parties in that regard. They both do many things I dislike/loath/revile/scorn/abhor; one just happens to have more policies that align with my interests.

 ;)

I find that not having an ignore list keeps my troll-detecting senses keen and operating at peak efficiency :tiphat:

what's up unofficial three posts-in-a-row limit rule?

nothing different between car forums and real world for me. i ignore people to keep peace. some folks have their own set of values which are different from me. that's fine, the world is for everyone.

as i dont push my values and beliefs to another, that is the same respect i expect from everyone else.

there are plenty of good people around me so ignoring a handful has no effect on my car forum life. please do yourselves a favor too if you want to ignore me. the feature works both ways. :D happy posting!

Been there, done that. Left the grille on to "warm-up", it started a grease fire. I look outside and there are flames shooting out of the grille and the thermometer is pegged at the 700° max.

Once it coooled down, i noticed that part of the aluminum bottom tray had melted away! I was just lucky the propane bottle didn't go off.

Well, I checked everything out, and the tray is actually in ok shape. It was a little bit warped in one corner, but easily bent back. It doesn't hold any real weight, so I'm not worried about it. Still gonna cost around $60 to fix it

He's talking about the rattle in his dash. The boost controller solenoid is the culprit I think, so he was considering his options.
