Mornin' BC!

When is your next track session?

I have been meaning to look at that link you sent me about the iPhone... I have been busy (lazy) and not looked yet. :icon17:

:hello: hi!!! Autocross on sunday. Probably no more track till late summer when my car club goes back to Nelson Ledges.

Get unlazy! Lol! Just search optrix and it will come up. They have different versions for different iphones-so make sure to get the right one. Very easy to use. The ap that overlays your route is 10 bucks, but the basic one is free

LunaZ 06-07-2013 08:43 AM

Okay, really...
Must get a run in before I meet my new landlord at noon.

Hey BoobZ, I just heard back from the tech. He doesn't see anything that resets the chime without a dealer computer, but he had one suggestion: with the fob nearby, hold the button on the door handle for 5-8 seconds. Good Luck :tiphat:

Okay. I'll give that a shot.

If not, I guess I'll swing by the dealership on Monday. :eekdance:

So it's hot here in Phoenix, right?

This is apparently what we do to prove to everyone that we aren't lying:

The 3TV Forecasters say it's going to be the hottest day of the year -- so far. We wanted to know how long it would take 600 pounds of ice to melt in such extreme heat.

The accountant (wife) authorized the payment of the remaining balance on my last major purchase, thereby authorizing the purchase of new front brake rotors and pads today :woot:

Congrats! Be sure to treat them for rust prior to installation. Just sayin'. :)

Hmm. Shouldn't a shop do this if they installed the parts? Reason I ask is because my spouse just had new rotors and brake pads installed on the rears and they are rusted up!

Haboob 06-07-2013 10:08 AM

:icon17: Rust.

Never heard of it.

for the most part, rust on rotors are considered 'normal' for most folks. :ugh2:

but not the end of the world after the replacement. you can wire brush the rust off, clean it off real well with some RC car motor spray, mask off the area where the rotors make contact with the pads, and spray away using matte black duplicolor engine enamel paint. :)

i dont know if you even need to use primer. i say this cause i used primer last year on my dd to paint the center hub, and it chipped away. :ugh2:

the previous fit, i painted it directly without primer and it held for 5yrs. :wtf2:

 my rotors always rust after I wash the car. One application of the brakes and a couple of rotations of the rotors and they're back to silver. What is the purpose of treating them for rust prior to installation? And what product do you use?

So that the part near the center ( where pad does not make contact) does not rust.
