Just finished a trans-Pacific teleconference where someone tried to justify spending $3,000 to fight a $26 tax penalty. Seriously.

Amazing the drones that get paid serious money to work at large companies.

The person on the other end was actually pizzed at me for calling attention to the situation and thought she was going to read me the riot act. All I could say was that this was THE stupidest thing I've seen in 32 years of working in finance/tax.

Retirement or death can't come soon enough sometimes. :ugh2:
