Cruisin' at 60 and a deer jumped over my Z
Went for a short drive this afternoon. I was driving along a 3-lane highway (2 on my side) with the cruise set at 62-63 when a deer darts out of the woods and jumps over my car while I swerve to get out of the way. The deer launched real close to the front right wheel and I saw deer belly and feet in the rearview mirror. Missed landing on the rear of the car by what looked like a foot or two (probably closer to 5-10 feet). If the car were 2" taller, we'd both be dead.
I need to build my Karma balance back up - I used a lot of it on that one. Anybody need a favor.

Wow. That's luck right there. Did your pants survive? I might have ruined mine in that situation.

LOL It was pretty intense for a second or two. Brush and small trees had grown up close to the road (pretty much the norm for around here) and I didn't have a lot of advance warning. The car did very well. I just gave the wheel a little twitch back-and-forth and the car moved over just enough for the deer to plant her feet and launch.

Yes. Very lucky indeed. I live in prime deer hunting territory and we have a large, well-fed population roaming around. Not uncommon to read about someone hitting a deer straight on and it coming through the windshield.
