I was Air Force weather and my first assignment was Ft Drum! Thankfully at the last minute I was changed to Holloman AFB in New Mexico and then I went to Yokota and Camp Zama.

Oh taking the Z to Korea. Well if you're mil there was a rank limit for drivers so before you take it and can't drive it make sure you meet the requirement. Also driving is a little nerve racking overthere. Highways can be fast but off the highways and it's always bumper to bumper. And LNs will change lanes in a heartbeat with nothing more than a quick honk of the horn it let you know.

Yes I am a CPT in the Army and I BS for most of the day. LOL!
I just came out of command and now work with a bunch of people that I have known for almost three years. That's why work is kinda easy. I learned how to drive in NYC so hopefully that will help out. |

OK, now you two CPT's have "measured each other" -- couple of thoughts/comments...
1) Thank you both for your current service -- your service gives the rest of us the ability to "BS" in great forums like "THE370Z.COM"!!! 2) IMWZEL -- I'd agree with Lemers (I was station in ROK from '98-'00, and travel there routinely in my current life) -- unless you have no other options, I'd put your Z in storage, do your tour in Korea, and return back to the states to a great and like new 370Z -- unless you are going to be stationed down south (Daegu, etc.) the driving in Korea simply put -- SUCKS! Besides, as a CPT, your gonna be so busy, you won't have time to drive your car. Just some unsolicited thoughts -- regardless of your choice -- best of luck and thanks again for your service!

Without going too far off topic thanks for the advice. I planned on getting a beater there anyways. I've driven in Korea before with a green box called a Galloper. I left my Z in Hawaii with a friend and when I came back there were several curb rash incidents on the back wheels.
More than likely I'll find somewhere to hide it on base. CPT's measuring each other up. Isn't that the Army way? Our whole parking lot at Brigade is nothing but a Penis measuring contest; M5, Porsche 911, SRT8s, Roush Mustangs, Custom bikes, My Harley Night Rod Special, limited edition Ducati, a turbo Busa, and to top it off a C6 Z06 That's what we spend your tax dollars on after deployment. |

I'm a Network Engineer for a Managed Services firm. It's I.T. My car is my office, I take it to all my clients and my job pays for gas, wear and tear on the vehicle, woohoo!
When I meet clients they just say stuff like "Damn, they must pay you good there!" |

I'm a 35yr old Systems Debug Engineer @ AMD/ATI. I fought my way up from Validation to earn my Job & my Nismo. This is my only vehicle, so I commute and grocery shop and wander aimlessly in her.
Grats to all you Z owners, young and old, rich and poor. Although, I must say... had this car simply been given to me, I would have already torn it up. Spending 20yrs building up good credit and job_skills to afford such a fine street legal racing car has me treating her like a newborn infant... until she's broken in, that is! I friggin love my Nismo |
