You can always carry around a 18" breaker bar with a torque wrench and a few deep sockets for those "roadside emergencies". ;)

I'm talking about flat tires of course.

Does NY allow tasers? All of the bats, wrenches, crowbars and maces in the world won't do any good while you're sitting in the car. Pepper spray isn't going to work in an enclosed space either.

Sorry that in NY your sling shot must be in a Ziplock bags and stored under the hood.

It is better to follow the law (with legal firearms) than drive around like a teenager with a baseball bat.

Touché on the slingshot under the hood in a case used to carry nuclear warheads. :icon17:

However a good metal extension of ones arm never hurt [oh the pun] to quickly calm someone who decides to come at you with fists down :stirthepot:

I don't have a problem fighting someone with a crowbar, metal extension they are only going to get to swing it once.;)

That's why guns come in handy if somebody feels frisky.

I'm not a lawyer, but using a wrench or bat on someone who is trying to punch you sounds like a recipe for legal disaster.

The goal of having something like that on you is to avoid having to use it at all as soon as the other person realizes you actually do have one on your person.

Talk softly and carry a big stick policy. Roosevelt style ;)

That makes some sense. Shame you live in NY where self defense is pretty much illegal.

Guys, for the love of god, ON TOPIC!!! (I know I got off topic too)

Btw, comments like that make me laugh, having lived in Houston, it's a shame you live in TX (granted, great people and even more shìtty ones, hated the city)

Well I have a CCP in WA so I carry a Sig Sauer P220..blunt objects are pointless IMO.. If you're threatning me with deadly force, and I feel my life is being threatened then then deadly force in the form of a 45 will be swiftly applied to you. The key words being life threatening.. Deadly force no matter the instrument is the same, whether you use a bat a knife or a firearm.. Some are just more efficient and effectiv than others.

I was just making a comment about how it's pretty much impossible to legally carry a weapon for self defense in NY.

BTW, sorry you didn't like it here in TX. I don't know how we'll survive without you :p

IMNSHO, the rule-of-thumb is to NOT show your weapon until the instant before you use it. Forewarned is forearmed; it only escalates the situation; &c. YMMV

I do not carry weapons in my car except for guns when traveling to/from the range and then they are in the hatch area and all but impossible to get to from the cabin. I avoid places where I think it might be necessary to carry a weapon. I usually carry a pocket knife, but I wouldn't know how to use it in a fight. I suppose I could give you a nasty cut if I threw one of my CDs at you. :)

This. If you're in the car, hit the gas. If you have to, run them over.

I guess I hadn't thought about that. A 3400# guided missile can be very effective, but then I'd probably have to deal with getting a new bumper.

I'm not hitting anybody with my car and get dead body smell on my fast intentions exhaust.

You be crazy man!!!!!
