Watched Decline of Western Civilization I - III this past weekend. I and III are good (III s a bit sad); II is filler except for the hilarious commentary by Ozzy and Lemmy.

I has fantastic performances by Fear, Black Flag (voiced by "Chavo", my 2nd favorite vocalist after K. Morris), Germs, and also a few bands I'd not heard of before (Alice Bags?)

Also, some great performances by X, including this...

the fabulous rhinestones...one of my "sleeper" all-time favs from my beloved summer of '71---great music thru-out the whole album...timeless; and, my brand new japanese pressing is, as almost always, HOT!!!

Growing up here in L.A., I got to see all those bands (and more) just about every weekend. There was a club called The Starwood where they all played, FEAR, The Germs, Black Flag, The Adolescents, Dead Kennedy's, The Gears, Sticky Fingers and of course, X. I must've seen them 20+ times back in the day. I last saw them at the Roxy a few years ago, just before Ray Manzarak died.
