90's Kids
 

I got into a friendly argument with my friends about the cutoff date to be a 90's kids. I was wondering what you guys/gals opinions are. IMO I think the cutoff date is 1988 and maybe 1989. I think if you never jerked it to your pop's VHS porn stash and slamming pogs while licking a ring pop than you're not a 90's kids.

What do y'all think?

i'm '87 so i guess i count. sadly i'll admit while cleaning the other day i found some pogs/slammers and actually went through them and had a laugh lol

1989 and i have no idea and i never of myself as a 90's

I'm an 80's baby but not sure if I'm a 90's kid... I guess because I know what all that is. I would have guess you would have said something about Atari, Nintendo, lik-em-aid, gummy anything, and cabbage patch kids... Not to mention vanilla ice and jump around (house of pain). And 90% of my time as a kid was spent outside except Saturdays when I had an intimate relationship with a huge bowl of capt'n crunch, all the milk in the house and about 60 hours of cartoons starting at 0600. Just saying. Oh yeah. And fast and furious isn't what got me into cars it was Smoky and the bandit and that old racing movie with Kenny Rogers .... Ummm six pack

I'd say probably 86 or 87. You have to be able to recall the TV shows, music, etc. (along with the things you've stated).

sooo like captain planet, biker mice from mars, toxic avenger, bobbys world, talespin, doug, ren & stimpy, etc...

There are always exceptions, because of reruns, or awesome parents making kids watch the 90's stuff, or people just going back and watching older stuff that their friends/siblings said was cool.

Hell, I can't even remember all of the cool stuff from the 90's and I was old enough and supposedly competent enough to understand it all! :icon17:

I will say this though and I know I'm in the minority, esp. since I grew up with them all over the radio - I can't stand Nirvana, never have, never will.

'92 here. I loved me some Captain Planet though :icon17:

netflix has some old gems too.

nirvana is pretty good i like most stuff from them but i can see where some stuff could be strongly disliked lol

there's pictures somewhere in my house of me dressed as captain planet for halloween one year lol

I just can't (I guess it'd be couldn't) stand the whiny tone in the singing.

It's the same thing with Chevelle today - I hate them, because it just sounds like the singer is whining out the lyrics.
