Here's a shot of the Bondo fix we did for anyone interested. I'll get some painted results tomorrow when the sun is out again.

Attachment 68152

I also put my license plate on the Stillen bracket and found this out.

Does it not have another nut on it that you can use to tighten it where it's horizontal?

I'll have to recheck the box that it was sent in but I'm pretty sure it wasn't included.

Then just run by any hardware store, and get a bolt to put on the post.

You insert it in all the way, and then when it's as far in, bring it back out till it's level. Then tighten the bolt down to the base.

Well another thing we considered was that the license plate might end up scraping the lip when installed. It got pretty damn close to the bottom fang area before it was tightened all the way....

Pint, I think he means you adjust it at the rusted bolt to straighten it out. Might as well clean it up at the same time.

Err... Haven't heard of these issues from other people with the stillen plates before.

Remove the screw thats secures the bracket that holds the plate. Reapply lock tight to the screw, position bracket (how ever you want your plate situated), reinstall screw. Enjoy your horizontal plate. That's what you have to do when you buy it new. The threads for your toe hook are obviously different than the last vehicle.

you could have just gotten LEDs though; I highly doubt Grandma was running them in the light fixtures in her bathroom
