We've really been hurt by the collapse of the RV industry. Here in my county we lost two huge RV manufacturers that accounted for nearly 4k jobs. Then Hyundai semi-conductor closed last fall taking another 1,200 higher paying tech jobs. The collapse of the housing market has really hurt the logging and construction people too.
Eugene just got a new Chinese company that is bringing in 150 jobs to make solar panels, so maybe that will be the start of something good. Last edited by Pushing_Tin; 07-19-2009 at 08:05 PM. |
