Are you faster than a Redneck Show
so I watched this show for the first time last night. I was hoping for more. I"d find it more interesting if they actually matched cars that had similar HP ranges. They bring out this 600HP 1968 camaro and pit it agains a 285 HP Subi. Funny thing is that the Subi kept up with him all the way through, but just didn't have the HP to catch 'em on the straight away. I hope that someone with a sup'd up Z wipes these tuck-fards across the tarmack soon. How do you pit a 550 HP Mustang against a BMW 328i? I'm was like WTF. I guess its old skul rules, "run what you brung". Damn, I'm a redneck (well, leatherneck really) and I thought they were idiots. :shakes head:

They like a rigged game.

Yeah not too impressed, wish they would have shown more of the other cars that came out. It looked like 30 + cars came out and they only showed like 4 of them.

Nothing liked staged "reality" shows. Just like he bachelor and bachelorette. TV show producers like nothing more than to make piles of money from something that costs nothing to make.
Poor...very poor. |
pathetic and sad. did they have a 350z accomplice? :roflpuke2:

Id love to see a GT-R run on this show..... Dont get me wrong, i love American muscle....but at least match up something thats remotely close...

R U faster than a redneck?
Not my wording. It's really the title of a TV show I just picked up on and while it's too much redneck if you watch all the episodes at once, the show is pretty funny nonetheless.
Basically, some trash-talking, foreign car-hating rednecks challenge tuners in a "run what you brung" American muscle car vs. import showdown on the track. Hopeful contenders show up at the gate in modded BMWs, Subies, Mazdas and Nissans and get weeded out during the day until two contenders battle with two rednecks in a three-lap, five-turn track and before one tuner and one redneck race in the final. Although we don't get to see the whole elimination process, the show is a funny novelty of personal pokes from beer-drinking redneck comedian host, John Reep (Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay), with lots of trailer park humor, patriotic insults, surprise guest drivers and real amateur racing for a $10,000 cash prize. The show is on Speed channel Mondays at 9pm but gets repeated on Saturday and maybe during the week. One of the best episodes was between the rednecks and a Nissan GTR: |
Just saw all of that and wow that GTR destroyed Bo Duke. Good show, gotta start watching it from now on
|
good natured fun. I saw the last episode where an audi station wagon won the 10k. That was hilarious.
|
Yeah it's kinda funny. Obviously all staged with actors on the redneck side but watevs. I thought it was funny that they had Kenny Wallace on one of the episodes driving for the redneck side but he's a Toyota NASCAR driver. Haha.

Faster Than A Redneck Show Discussion
I just watched the FTARS episode where a Honda S2000 was raced against the shows top 700hp 1970 Camaro and the driver of the S2000 almost beat the Camaro. But the Camaro passed one final time at the end and won, even though the S2000 almost won.
Just wondering how much power you can get of a S2000 safely, as it really kept up with the highly modified 1970 Camaro. |
