Yeah, I read that about the impact.

I'll have to ask them about their tools. I've warned them over and over that many-a-tool has been broken by these bolts.

yah, some folks just go to town with impact guns...potentially breaking or weakening fasteners.

I think I am going to wrap up one more thing for work and then call it a week. I am off to Minnesota again Monday. Yay.

Washing all the bugs off the 370 this afternoon sounds good to me.

it's not just the fasteners, impacts are almost guaranteed to break the o2 sensors which is an expensive replacement part.

I am very happy to go there -- the work I am doing is mentally taxing, but rewarding and they listen to me which means they may map out and set everything up correctly. This flying all over the place gets a bit tiring though. I found an excellent Japanese restaurant near where I stay and my client has not complained yet about my somewhat extravagant dinners I put on my expenses, so...

yikes, mr. gurney... another reason why i use my 18v driver instead of impact guns for wheel swaps to speed up the loose part of winding. everything else is by hand.

yes, traveling by air gets old very fast.

on finding nice restaurant. it's aways nice to have something to look forward to while going on a biz trip.

Haboob - Make sure you use lots of WD-40 and let it soak for 10-25 mins and reapply, maybe 2-3 times and it will come apart a lot easier

also go to a surplus or local hardware store and buy a ratchet extension approx 18-24" long for a 1/2" drive ratchet then you should have no problems (if you have a 1/2' drive ratchet)

That's how I did mine with the help of one friend, no broken tools or bolts

if you use a 3/8" drive ratchet then it might break

I'll use the impact on lug nuts but just to speed up the process. I torque them down by hand. and I do not use it on anything else really.
