well that wasn't as bad as I though it was going to be... quite informative actually considering I did not realize that I needed to set my manual torque wrench down to lowest torque after use - it's been set at 85 since the last time I used it over a month ago

any thoughts on its affect on the calibration in that time period?

mr.jar- yah, its spring loaded so it will probably give you false readings now.
Try testing it with another wrench to see how far off it is.

I have redundant torque wrenches so I can compare one another. SnapOn does recalberation on mine.

The one I have is a Craftsman, so I'll probably just try to take it back to Sears and replace it. I've got a buddy with one I can borrow if I need one soon

This one is like the Craftsman I have! It used to belong to my Grandfather before he passed.

I honestly almost bought something like that (inexpensive), but I went with one of the more modern manual ones (~$90). I love all the old tools that I inherited from my dad's parents after they sold their house and moved into a retirement home about three years ago

old tools are good in so many ways! They definitely don't make things like they used to.
