It may be too late, but cow, I recommend you the Sennheisers and AKGs. They're indeed great pieces. I've also heard good things about Creative headphones as well, and they're famous for their sound quality in gaming events, so they get beat on pretty hard.
One of my friends had actually acquired a Grado, he tells me they're F***ING awesome, but uncomfortable. They're expensive as hell though. |
I went to Best Buy yesterday & couldn't find anything I wanted (there was no headphone stand). I wanted to try some Sennheiser ones, but there were none for sale.
I'm going to try another Best Buy today. Would Radio Shack carry a good selection? I'd maybe like some in-ear ones for when I go to baseball games, but otherwise, I want over-the-ear. |
Senn's are not going to be sold just anywhere there like rely god ones online yes. And creative ones stink there is just no quality.
|
Noted on Creatives.
Where can I find Senns? edit: Just did a search-- there are no Sennheiser dealer in my town. Awesome. There's a bunch where I'm from. Figures. I can't wait to move out this shithole. |
Sennhesier and many other brands are rarely in stores, or only in big cities, which is what hurts them because only those in audio/video will know about them. One thing you might look into is some online shops will allow you to order them and test them for up to 30 days and return for a full refund. This gives people the chance to test them and get the full experience that they want.

forget Radio trash i mean shack....they absolutely suck...lol
time for a road trip to the nearest city on the weekend..... |
I did some research on & think these Sennheisers are about what I'd want. Will they absolutely be better than my former Bose headphones?
If yes, I'll go ahead & order them today & do overnight shipping or something. Quote:

Placed an order. Hopefully I'll get them by next week.

Future shop & Best Buy I believe are one and the same.
The headphones you linked (HD-555) I own and enjoy them, but do note that they are defined as open can headphones. Meaning that the black you see on the sides is an open mesh which will allow sound to travel through. |
Aw crap. That's a big thing for me. I guess I'll see how well they work & go from there-- they weren't so overly expensive that if I'm not satisfied, I can't try some others.
Impatience is a b.... |
By the by, thank you to everyone who's posted in this thread & offered your advice/ tips. It's very much appreciated.
