Check your smoke alarms, make sure there working.
Get a bottle of Tylenol, and something for diarrhea, you'll need these sooner or later.

Keep a hammer, a screw driver and toilet paper nearby. You'll need em.

I love it.

When I was 4, we moved to london. From there, at 9 we moved to Milan. I remember wandering around the house (4 floor villa) just getting a kick out of all the random passageways that I was finding.
Then from there, when I was 15, we moved to Rome. Had a whole new city to explore, new bars to find (;)) and all that fun stuff.
Then, when I was 17 we moved back to the states. I got a kick out of the thought of being able to just sit by our pool for the whole summer... and then I started working 12 hours a day and couldn't fully enjoy it. Still cool though!

From there I got to enjoy short-term moves. Moved to college, got to meet all new people. Sort of thwarted by having to bust my *** in class though.

Favorite move was definitely to the Middle East for 6 months though. No way of communicating with the family I was living with, my new friends, etc. Had to deal with figuring out how to work Middle Eastern washing machines. It was also made particularly interesting by the fact that it was Ramadan and the family made me fast with them...
